1) What are main differences of garden roses and regular roses?

Garden Roses- have unique shapes, colors, and open qualities. They are not the type of roses you may see in a “dozen roses” you might see at Valentines Day. Garden roses are romantic- with many more petals- and garden roses- open like the roses you may have seen in your grandmother’s garden. The petals gently open- all the way to the center. Garden Roses are very picturesque- and definitely romantic.

4) What do I have to expect of a garden rose in regards of presentation, durability, type of opening, pros and cons?

Your Garden Roses will arrive- directly from the farm- and they will be thirsty- so it’s a good idea to open your box immediately and follow the enclosed directions to get them into water- as soon as possible. Garden Roses are packed “closed”- rather than in full bloom- this allows them ship more safely- and as they take up water- they will open- and the blooms will actually get bigger. Your Garden Roses- will ‘grow’ - after they get into water- and some may take a day or two to open fully. These long lasting roses- will open and remain beautiful for several days at the open stage… this opening process- is a journey- and you will be there to enjoy the roses- as they open bloom- and help you celebrate!

Pure Garden Roses- may not be as durable or long lasting- these Garden Type Roses- are bred (or hybridized) to be longer lasting- open more fully… it’s been a life long quest for many roses growers to create the “BEST” Garden Type rose….
